In loving memory of Lillian Sullivan, a resident of Providence Bay, who died at the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the age of 87 years. She was born at Indianapolis, Indiana, daughter of the late Hence and Alice (Summerville) Orme. Lillian and Blair worked in the same school system in Elwood, Indiana from 1949 to 1979, Lillian as a school nurse and Blair as teacher and Principal. In 1979, Lillian and Blair moved to Providence Bay where she was very involved in her community. She had been a correspondent for the Manitoulin Expositor and Recorder, a member of the Campbell Township Horticultural Society, the UCW of the Providence Bay United Church and a member of the church, where she was also very involved. She also enjoyed working with flowers and thoroughly enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbours. Lillian was truly a lovely lady in all respects. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will leave a huge void in all their lives, but many memories will be cherished. Dearly loved and loving wife of Blair, whom she had been married to for 65 years. Loving and loved mother of Ann of North Bay and Blair and his wife Jennifer of Witchita, Kansas. Proud grandmother of Benjamin Oakes and Meghan and Shannon Sullivan. Predeceased by brother Hence Orme of Dayton Ohio. Friends called at the Providence Bay United Church on Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 12 noon – 2 pm. The funeral service to celebrate Lillian’s life was conducted at 2 pm with Rev. Mary Jo Eckert Tracy officiating. Interment in Providence Bay Cemetery. If so desired, donations to the Providence Bay United Church would be appreciated.
