MINDEMOYA—The municipality of Central Manitoulin will welcome Her Honour the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, during an official visit to Manitoulin Island on Friday, July 29.
The Lieutenant Governor will meet Central Manitoulin Mayor Richard Stephens, council members and municipal office staff at 12:30 pm at the municipal office before proceeding to a round table discussion with Manitoulin Municipal Association (MMA) members and representatives of local First Nations at 1 pm at the Mindemoya Community Hall. Her Honour’s visit will conclude with a tour of the Welcome Centre and Pioneer Museum at 2:30 pm.
The Municipality of Central Manitoulin looks forward to hosting the Lieutenant Governor as she experiences the richness and diversity of the community. Mayor Stephens said, “Central Manitoulin is truly humbled to be part of Her Honour’s visit to Manitoulin Island.”
