A few musings on the joy of just being alive
To the Expositor:
The Jubilance of Existence
Talking to yourself and enjoying the conversation.
Somebody else made coffee.
Driving with the windows open and whatever flew out probably wasn’t important anyway.
Declaring a truce in the Dandelion Lawn War. Go bees!
The lawn mower started on the first try.
Somebody called you when you actually had the gumption to talk.
Finding an expired lottery ticket and thankfully it wasn’t a winner.
Getting out of bed and not thinking of anything for at least 10 minutes.
Knowing a really funny joke that you almost never tell because it’s so wickedly inappropriate.
A quick round of hiccups.
Going from snickering to giggling to laughing so hard your face hurts.
Knowing that your missing socks, reading glasses and hundreds of pens and pencils are having a wild party somewhere.
Getting 100 percent on an easy test but you’ll still happily accept that garbage goal.
Running into some folks you haven’t seen in awhile and you’re looking pretty good that day.
The sound of neighbours having a little dinner party on their back deck.
The naughty thrill of overtaking and slowly passing a police officer on the highway.
Having a crow eye you up and deem himself your equal.
The adorable optimism of someone who puts a “
Please don’t let your dog poop here” sign on their lawn.
Enjoy yourself,
Douglas Miller
