Sights aimed squarely at the Progressive Conservatives and Jib Turner
To the Expositor:
So, with the 2018 Ontario provincial election fast approaching there are some facts that the good folks of the riding of Algoma-Manitoulin need to be aware of along with all the other hard working Ontarians and their families.
Firstly, if anyone really thinks that Doug Ford, leader or the Ontario PCs, could ever achieve the billions and billions in savings that he is claiming he can without severe job and service sector cuts, then you are not living in reality. Ford has just recently parachuted in the PC candidate for Kitchener-Conestoga who will be one of his specialists to implement the deep cuts that Ontario workers and service sectors like healthcare, education and social programs will be hit with. That person is Mike Harris Jr., son of the infamous ex-slash ‘n burn Conservative Premier Mike “The Knife” Harris. Just like his father before him, The Knife Jr. will have no qualms about slashing funding and laying off staff in important public service sectors so that the Conservatives can provide the huge tax breaks that they have promised to the corporate wealthy.
To the good folks of Algoma-Manitoulin, one of the last times Ford appointee (as PC candidate for Algoma-Manitoulin) Jib Turner ran in our riding he was allied with Tim Hudack, who if had been elected, promised to cut 100,000 public sector jobs. So, to our nurses, LTC and hospital workers, teachers, police officers, board of education workers, paramedics, town workers, LCBO and librarians etc. etc., beware of Doug Ford, The Knife Jr., Jib Turner and the Ontario PC Party who are all quite prepared to put the corporate wealthy ahead of your job security and your families’ well-being!
We do not have to choose between bad (corrupt Wynne Liberals) and worse (slash ‘n burn Ford Conservatives); we can choose the Ontario NDP and change for the better to protect our jobs and the valuable services that ordinary Ontarians and their families rely on every day.
Thank you,
Greg Young
