Some sobering statistics on the cost of a new sports complex in Mindemoya
To the Expositor:
Anytime the urge comes over any one of you to destroy the Mindemoya Hall, the historical consolidated school (Mindemoya Old School) and the Mindemoya arena to build a sports complex, check these figures:
Thirty-five years ago the Little Current-Howland sports complex (recreation centre) cost six million dollars to build.
It costs approximately $700,000 to operate it for one year.
Three years ago, it cost $680,000 to replace the roof.
So as Mrs. Anning said at the last public meeting—bring the places up to standards. Spend thousands not muliti-millions.
Sincerely
Lyle Dewar
