Single vehicle rollover leads to charge
On Sunday, November 8 at approximately 3:05 pm, the Manitoulin OPP was dispatched to a single vehicle rollover on Highway 6, near the Northeast Town landfill. The Northeast Town Fire Department and Manitoulin-Sudbury District Services Board EMS were already on scene when police arrived.
Police also reported that a passing motorist stopped to assist the driver of the car.
Three vehicles were involved with the collision: a Chevrolet Cavalier, Chevrolet Silverado and Lexus SUV with the Cavalier ending up on its hood in the ditch. Police report that there were no life threatening injuries from the accident.
As a result, the 61-year-old female driver of the Cavalier, of Richmond Hill, was charged with passing, roadway not clear, overtaking traffic.
