As a result of the motor vehicle collision that took place on 17 June 2014 on the LaSalle Extension, the driver, Zachery Turpin (25yrs) has succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is still ongoing by the Traffic Management Unit.

The LaSalle extension roadway is now re-open in both directions of travel. An update on the investigation will be forth coming later in the day.
SUDBURY–The Greater Sudbury Police Service wants to advise the public that Lasalle Blvd., (the Lasalle extension), between Frood Rd. and Lorraine St., Sudbury, is closed in both directions due to a serious vehicle collision.
Police are on scene and the collision is limited to a single motor vehicle. The lone male occupant has been transported to Health Sciences North by EMS in critical condition.
Drivers must access alternate routes until further notice.
Of note, there will be NO access to Macdonald Cartier Secondary School directly from Lasalle Bvld. at this time access will be limited to the school via Crescent Park Rd. Police are in the process of advising school officials and the school bus consortium.
A follow-up release will be issued to provide further details and to advise when the roadway will be open to traffic.
