Killarney Mountain Lodge Welcomes Henry Ford for Chefs Across the Great Lakes

KILLARNEY – June 2, 2016 – It’s business as usual at Killarney Mountain Lodge (KML). The resort is going ahead as planned with the June 7 Chefs Across the Water culinary exchange despite a recent fire that destroyed a building on the property. Renowned Detroit Chef Michael Trombley and Chef Tony Murad of The Henry Ford Museum will make their way to KML for a special dining event and fundraiser for Killarney Elementary School.

KML General Manager, Kelly McAree, says the culinary event has been in the works since last year and they’re happy to welcome both Chefs, “We believe these cross border partnerships strengthen our friendships and provide our guests with a unique dining experience at the same time.”

The June 7 menu features a first course of Sherry and Wild Mushroom Bisque, followed by a Lemon pepper cornmeal crusted Georgian Bay Trout and a third course of Venison loin Matignon. The fourth course dessert showcases a Lemon Curd Bisque Cake.

Last November KML sent their chefs to The Henry Ford Museum completing the first leg of the culinary exchange. Chef Guy Bedard and Sous Chef Patrick Tremblay brought a taste of Georgian Bay with them. The second leg, by Michigan chefs, marks the completion of the exchange.

The “Chefs Across The Great Lakes” four-course dinner, featuring chefs from The Henry Ford Museum: Tuesday, June 7 at 7:00 pm. $65.00 per person with proceeds going to Killarney Elementary School.  To make dinner reservations please call, (705) 287-2242.
