“KEW” FRANCIS JOSEPH FOX

Fox-DeathSEPTEMBER 17, 1944 – NOVEMBER 2, 2014

In loving memory of “Kew” Francis Joseph Fox (September 17,1944) who peacefully passed into the Spirit World on November 2, 2014 at the Michigan University Hospital in Ann Arbor Michigan. Beloved son of James C. and Georgina Fox (both predeceased) and loving husband of his sweetheart, Nancy “Birdy” Fox, and father of Clinton Fox (predeceased), Christine (husband Tim) Mortimer, Alicia, Molly, Joseph and John. Kew was a proud grandfather of five children and a great-grandpa to three wonderful boys. Kew was born and raised in Rabbit Island (Wikwemikong) on Manitoulin Island. He often spoke fondly of his late grandfather and grandmother (Dominic and Sophie Peltier) living on the farm and working with the team of horses. Later, Kew worked in Lansing, Michigan for a number of years for General Motors. He retired and settled in Ann Arbor to pursue his absolute passion of horses. Kew loved horses, rodeos and horse racing. Anyone who knew Kew knew he’d be at the barn or at the track training the horses and later meeting with his racing buddies for breakfast. Kew will be lovingly remembered and missed by his siblings Jerome “Money Man” (Millie) Fox, Noella (Dallas) Moggy, James K. Fox, Rhonda (Curt predeceased) Hopkins, Sandra (Peter) Browne, Jenny Fox and Debbie Gravelle, and Patrick Fox. Kew will also be missed by a huge blessing of nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered and missed by his beloved cousins Helen “Kedenh” (Roy) and Dave Fuhst, Joe and Roslinda Peltier and the whole Peltier clan. Chi’Miigwetch! At his request there will be a cremation and with one last journey to his homeland for entombment of his ashes in the Spring of 2015. “G’zaagig’oh paaneh. Baa maa meenwaa ka’waabmiig’oh”
