KAREN ANNE SORENSEN (NEE WILSON)

In loving memory of Karen Anne Sorensen (nee Wilson) who passed away Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Health Sciences North at the age of 72. Beloved wife to Thorkild “Tom” Sorensen predeceased. Loving mother to Kristee Adamson (Michael) of Pickering and Kory Sorensen (Jessica) of Sudbury. Cherished grandma to her precious Emily, loving Lindsay and lively Joshua. Dear sister to Wayne Wilson predeceased (Stephanie) (Margaret predeceased), Joan Wilson Barbeau (Aurele) predeceased and Cecil Wilson (Joe) (Yvone predeceased) of London. Caring aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her sister by choice Carolyn Tupakka (Pertti), best friends Pat and Danny Nixon (predeceased), her nursing friends and many close neighbours. Karen will be remembered for her helping spirit, her devotion to maintaining friendships and most importantly for loving her grand babies; they were truly the light of her life. Rested at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. (Friends called from 4 pm to 8 pm Monday only.) Funeral Service was in St. Peter’s United Church, 203 York Street, Sudbury on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 11 am. Cremation with interment on Manitoulin Island. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation or Maison Vale Hospice would be appreciated.
