KAGAWONG–Residents and visitors alike will be welcomed by ‘Black Pete’ as they enter Ontario’s Prettiest Village this month. This colourful little guy is just one of over 20 scarecrows scattered throughout the village as part of the annual scarecrow hunt organized by members of Economic Development Committee (EDC).
The mild temperature on Sunday of the Thanksgiving weekend attracted dozens of visitors to the community and more specifically Bridal Veil Falls where upwards of 50 vehicles were seen.
The goal of the annual invasion is to attract visitors to the village in the shoulder season. It is definitely working.
The winner will receive a prize from Manitoulin Chocolate Works.
The ‘hunt’ runs until the end of October. Contest rules are available at Bridal Veil Esso. For more details call 705-282-0193.
