Kindergarten to Grade 8 students at Charles C. McLean Public School took part in the annual ‘Jump Rope for Heart’ event last week at the school. Students took part in six different heart health exercises, such as jumping rope, to raise funds for the Canada Heart and Stroke Foundation. C.C. McLean teacher Liz Van Every, who organized the event said students started practicing for the event during recess breaks after the March break, with as many as 50 students taking part. The school has raised just over $3,000 toward the campaign, with the deadline for donations being a week away. The student who raises the most will mean their class will have an extra gym class.
