Joshua (Josh) Peltier passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2015 at Health Science North in Sudbury, Ontario at the age of 38. Beloved husband of Jessica Wilde-Peltier and loving father of Caleja Peltier. Dear son of Alex “Nixon” Peltier (predeceased) and Genevieve “Zhunyip” Peltier. Dear brother of Alexander Peltier, Leroy Peltier (Wendy) and Irene Peltier. Dear son-in-law of Helen Wilde (Lannie). Dear brother-in-law of Garnet Wilde (Pamela), Candace Scott-Moore (Richard) and Jordon Wilde (Natasha). Loving uncle of Lexie, Courtnee, Sladen, Brooke, Liam, Leo, Isaiah, Taylor, Nolan, Ethan, Kaiden, Willow, and Miigis. Loving great-uncle of Catherine Kaboni. Dear godfather of Lexie, Brooklyn and Moxy. Josh will be missed by many, aunties, uncles, cousins, friends, and Mama. Josh loved his family with all his heart. His pride and joy was his baby girl, Caleja. He was genuinely proud of everyone’s successes and achievements. He would go out of his way to make sure that his family was well taken care of, especially in times of need. Josh was a man with one great big loving heart. He cherished every moment and loved making memories with his loved ones. Josh Peltier is a world renowned artist, actor, mentor and storyteller. A strong advocate for the visual arts and theatre community. He loved to be surrounded by nature, with every stroke of his paintbrush Josh captivated the beautiful world he saw and felt around him. As a storyteller and actor, he graced the stage bringing his characters to life. It was on stage where he fell in love with his amazing wife, they fell in love in Ojibway. Josh was proud to be a Global Savage, honoured to carry the stories and share them around the world. He was a teacher, mentor, and inspired so many young upcoming artists. Josh always loved to travel, to explore, to go on adventures and to meet new people. His humour brought love and light to people all across the world. He was unique, down to earth and loved everything about the 90s era. Josh will be remembered for his humble generosity, his love and laughter. Josh lived an extraordinary life. Family and friends gathered at the Debajehmujig Creation Centre in Manitowaning on April 22, 2015 at 4 pm. Funeral services were held at the Holy Cross Mission Church in Wikwemikong on April 24, 2015 at 2 pm. Cremation to follow.
