John Windsor wins MICC Golf Club Championship

GORDON—It was close for the longest time, but John Windsor prevailed once again at the Manitoulin Island Country Club (MICC) Club Championships, held recently.

Mr. Windsor outlasted the rest of the field, which included Stewart Simpson who was in the running until the 15th hole in the second and last round of the tournament, when Mr. Windsor was able to pull away to the victory. The 36 hole tournament was held over two days, 18 holes each day.

Mr. Windsor posted scores of 84-87 to post a total score of 171, to take the title. Mr. Simpson was second at 182 (88-94).

Finishing third and fourth in the tournament was Phil Harper (102-85) for 187 and Garry Tipper (96-94) for 190.
