JOHN WILLIAM MACLEAN

JOHN WILLIAM MACLEAN “Jack” October 26, 1945 – July 5, 2023 In loving memory of John (Jack) William Maclean, (77) of Little Current, Ontario who passed away peacefully on July 5, 2023 with his family by his side. Jack was born in Toronto, Ontario, October 26, 1945 and moved to Manitoulin Island when he was four years old. He worked in Sudbury, Ontario at the TV station and later worked for The Manitoulin Expositor as a freelance photographer until he retired in 2011. Jack’s hobbies included visiting his family in Winnipeg, fishing, walking, photography. He loved the Island and was thankful to everyone who was a part of his life. Jack’s family was his pride and joy, especially his two granddaughters Mikayla and Ashley. The inside of his house showed off many years of their art work and numerous family photos that made him feel like we were always together. He was a very proud, humble, simple, genuine, caring, fun loving father and grandpa who we all adored. Grandpa Jack was always checking in with us, wanting to know how we were doing, saying how proud he was of us, wanting us to always know what a great job we had done raising his two beautiful granddaughters and letting us know what great parents we were over and over again. Survived by his daughter Tami, son-in-law Billy, two granddaughters Mikayla and Ashley and the many wonderful family/friends from the Island. Thank you to his doctors and nurses at Manitoulin Health Centre along with his family/friends who were there helping us until the end. Special thanks goes out to Nancy, Dave, Kevin, Laurie and Matt. We will treasure all our memories close to our hearts forever. Always loving you, Dad and Grandpa Jack, big hugs from your girls. Please share your thoughts, memories and photos at IslandFuneralHome.ca.
