John Paul Schutz passed away peacefully at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Durham on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Jane Carol (Watson). Dear father to Kim (Warren) Joseph of Courtice and Steven (Tammy) Schutz of Sudbury. Paul was “Papa” to Sarah and Matt Joseph and Karly and Courtney Schutz. Paul will be sadly missed by his sister-in-law Barb Watson (Art McAfee) and brother-in-law Ron (Joyce) Watson and their children Ronda Sterling and Michael Watson and their families. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Clara Schutz. Paul will be missed by his many wonderful friends from Manitoulin Island, Goderich and the Durham area. Paul and Jane celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this year and many of those years were spent on or near the water. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating…the great outdoors. He was always the captain of his own ship and now has charted his last voyage. Forecast calls for clear skies, calm seas, and the wind beneath his wings. The family will receive visitors at Trinity Anglican Church, Durham on Thursday, October 2, 2014 between the hours of 11 am to 12 pm. A memorial service will follow in the church at 12 pm. A light lunch will be served by the Anglican Church women following the service. Paul will be laid to rest at a private family interment at Trinity Anglican Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to the Trinity Anglican Church or the Durham and Community Health Care Foundation.
