John Kent Coultis passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospice-Sarnia, on Thursday, April 21, 2016 following a brief battle with cancer. John Kent Coultis, age 66 years of Corunna. Beloved husband of 46 years to Gwen. Loving father of Bonnie Coultis of Manitoulin Island and Tanisha (Coultis) Drew and her husband Chris of Chatham. Much loved grandfather of Justin and Tyler. John is also survived by his brothers Kyle Coultis (Fran) of Ottawa, Danny Coultis (Lois) of Belleville and Mark Coultis (Denise) of Ottawa. He was the loving brother-in-law of Mary Bromley (Ben) of Lasalle, Wayne St. Denis (Valerie) of Windsor, James St. Denis (Gwen) of Kingston and Darlene Martens (Jake) of Ruthven. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. He will be sadly missed by Monte and Ruby-Do. He was predeceased by his parents Audrey and Noriene Coultis. John retired from the Coast Guard after 44 years service as a Marine Engineer. Friends were received at the Knight Funeral Home, 588 Street Clair Parkway, Corunna on Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 6 pm to 9 pm where a celebration of his life was held on Monday at 1:30 pm with Bert Penner officiating. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers sympathy may be expressed through memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice- Sarnia, War Amps or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
