JOHN (JOHANN) PATHY
Sadly, our Dad, John (Johann) Pathy, quietly passed away February 15, 2016 at the age of 85. He was proud of stating, he was born behind a haystack in rural Austria in 1930. He immigrated to Canada in his early 20s. A man with a solid work ethic, he served 35 years with the Ministry of Natural Resources as a construction foreman while raising four children with our mother, Betty. Retiring at age 63, he was happy spending treasured time with his grandchildren, Angel and Natasha. And boy he loved to ride, pedaling his bicycle 1000s of kms per year, right to the young age of 84. In his final year, our dad is quoted as saying “the almighty gave me a good life and a long life”. He is predeceased by his daughter, Joanne, as well as his brothers, Ludwig, Joseph, Ernest, his sister, Margaret and parents, Ludwig and Anna. He is survived by, and lovingly mourned by his children, John Pathy (Debbie McPharlane), William Pathy (Sue King), Jennifer Pathy (Remi Gauthier), grandchildren, Angel Woodbeck (Paul Edwards), Natasha Pathy, and his great-grandson, Jordan Edwards.
