JOHN CHARLES “CHA CHAAN” BEBONANG

November 2, 1949 – June 6, 2012

In loving memory of “Cha Chaan” who began his journey to the spirit world on June 6, 2012. He was a logger, chain saw operator and worked with many varieties of heavy logging equipment for most of his life until his illness. His interests were spending time with his wife, family and friends. “Cha Chaan” loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and also liked listening to old country music. His good sense of humour sparkled, speaking in his first language, anishinaabewin. John Charles is predeceased by parents Abel Beboning and Louise (nee Waagosh). Also predeceased by brothers Peter and Simon. He is survived by his beloved wife Antoinette, whom he affectionately called “Babe”. Also survived by sisters Catherine Baunach (Charlie) of Naughton, Cecile Quinn of Sudbury, Rita of Manitoulin Lodge in Gore Bay, Jeanette, Veronica and Agnes of M’Chigeeng and brothers Dominic and Leo of M’Chigeeng. Noos (father) to Jacqueline Corbiere, twins Debbie Spanish and Darrell, Peter, Norman Coburn (predeceased), Charles Jr. (Bubbles) of Edmonton, Mary Coburn of Pembroke, Derek Drysdale of Edmonton, Ron Drysdale of Manitowaning and step-son Donald Neal. M’shoomis (grandfather), uncle and great-uncle to many. Relatives and friends called at Saswaahns Spiritual Centre, 44 Tikmeg Road, M’Chigeeng after 1 pm on Saturday, June 9, 2012. The funeral mass was celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, M’Chigeeng on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 11 am. Interment in M’Chigeeng Cemetery.
