REBIRTH – OCTOBER 6, 2016

Jimy’s Anishnaabe noozwin meant vision music man. He loved to SING SONG DANCE and PLAY. His music and storytelling moved people throughout Turtle Island. He carried the gifts of generosity, magic, depth, and true joy. He lavished us in these gifts. May we all carry them forward with each other. Survived by his daughter Elisha Sidlar Monroe, his grandson and Little Bear, Moxy Manitowabi, his dear nieces Stephanie Monague and Naomi Monague, his beloved nephew Jim Monague and partner Trish Fisher, his beloved nephew Len Sidlar and partner Heidi Ried, his cousins Alma Jean Migwans and family, Diane Bebonang and family; he made family wherever he went. Predeceased by partner Lisa Sazama, brother Don Sidlar, brother Leonard Sidlar, mother Clara Rose Bebonang, father John Sidlar, and foster father Perter Derks. He will be missed by all surviving family and friends throughout Turtle Island and beyond. Family and friends gathered at the Saswaahns Spriritual Centre, M’Chigeeng on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 7 pm. A celebration of Jimy’s life was held at the Saswaahns Spiritual Centre on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 11 am. Donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
