JAMES ROSS
December 9, 1943 – September 26, 2022
It is with great sorrow that the family announces his sudden passing in the early hours on Monday, September 26th, 2022 in Spring Bay at the age of 78 years with his loving wife by his side. Son of the late Alex Ross and the late Geneviève Ross. Loving husband and best friend to Gail (Rebellato) Ross. Gail and Jim were married for 55 years and shared many loving memories together. Jim was extremely proud of his two sons, Jason and Darrell (Michelle). Jim’s two granddaughters, Emma and Olivia, were the apple of his eye and he never missed an opportunity to play, laugh and joke with them. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and spent many years hunting with his buddies at a camp they named “Buzzard’s Luck Hunt Camp.” He often shared many fond memories of fishing and hunting with his buddies and their children on Manitoulin Island. Jim worked at Bell Canada for 14 years and made many great friendships during that time. After leaving Bell, Jim was self-employed as JAR Construction; and his customers could count on his knowledge and expertise. Jim took on a project to restore an abandoned farmhouse in Spring Bay and turned it into the beautiful camp that it is today. When he wasn’t on the island you would find Jim working around the home, gardening and meeting up with friends at the local coffee shop. Jim lived his life on his own terms and to the beat of his own drum and still touched the hearts of many people. We will all feel the loss of this great man. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at St. Kevin’s Parish in Val Therese on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11 am. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of the North, Sudbury.
