June 3, 1982 – January 25, 2014
James died peacefully at the age of 31 in the ICU at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario lovingly surrounded by all his family on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 12:45 pm. After surviving a catastrophic car crash in Windsor, Ontario in 2003 he showed us all the true definition of optimism. Legally blind and with an acquired brain injury he rehabilitated to be able to live on his own and was strongly independent. His death deeply saddens us not just for his young age, but for the loss of his infectious love of life. He was diagnosed with cancer in September and put up a short but great fight. Although he was winning the battle against cancer, Bleomycin Toxicity took him from us all too soon. He enjoyed movies, music and his video games. James always had the newest technology and could always find a reason to buy something bigger and better. His laughter was contagious. He cared for every member of our extended family and friends. He was truly the guy to give you the Adidas shirt off his back. Treasured son to Colin (predeceased) and Linda of Little Current. Brother to Nicky Featherstone of England and Cathy and Ross Joyce of Spring Bay. Hopelessly spoiled niece Sarah and nephew David will know him and miss their awesome uncle. Grandson to Ray Condie of Lively and Lina Condie of Espanola. Loved nephew and cousin to Richard, Nancy, Troy, Terry (Vanessa) and Todd Condie and many others. Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service in the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, on Thursday, January 30, 2014 from 7 pm to 9 pm. Donations to Pet Save Manitoulin or Health Sciences North Children’s (cancer) Treatment Centre in lieu of flowers would be appreciated.
