JAMES EDWARD MOGGY

JAMES EDWARD MOGGY In loving memory of James Edward Moggy, who died peacefully at his home in Assiginack on July 25, 2023. Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of 51 years, Susanne Moggy (nee Lambert). Beloved father of Colleen (David) Blondé of Guelph, Jennifer (Daniel) de Cotret of Embrun, Ontario and Ashley (John) Lunney of Zurich, Switzerland. Cherished grandfather of Briana, Michael, Ella, Liam, Luke, Nicholas and Hugh. Son of the late George and Sadie (Third) Moggy of Manitowaning. Brother of Robert (predeceased) (Bev), Arthur (Winnie) (predeceased), Mervyn (Karen) and Grant (Nancy) Moggy. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jim was a proud OAC ’67A alumnus of the University of Guelph and stayed on to pursue a career as a research technician for 35 years, all the time a devoted family man. Always cherishing his Haweater roots, he and Sue retired to the Island in 2007. Jim had a life-long love of gardening, family history, photography and a good (that is, bad!) joke. He’ll be fondly remembered for his ‘word-smithing’, great taste in hats and the twinkle in his eye as he inevitably won at euchre or crib. He was also a great companion to his many pets through the years, most lately his little buddy Charlie. His life will be celebrated privately among family and friends. In honour of the medical field that supported him through a lifetime of diabetes, it was Jim’s wish that his remains be donated for the advancement of science. Cherishing the farm’s beaver pond as a boy, Jim would welcome donations to Manitoulin Streams Improvement Association for the restoration of natural waterways on Manitoulin.
