In loving memory of J. Marie Jacko Tahgaiwenene, 77 years, who passed away peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre on Saturday, July 12, 2014. Beloved daughter of David Jacko and Victoria (Wagosh/Fox). Dear sister of Arthur Jacko (predeceased), Ursula Mahdahbee, Helen Petahtegoose (Bernie), Rita Osawabine (Frank predeceased), Henry Jacko, Gloria Pitawanakwat (Gilbert), Lawrence Jacko, Rose Anderson (Gary), Vernon Jacko (predeceased), Betty Corbiere (Frank), Cecil Jacko (predeceased) (Elaine) and special brother Lennox Jacko. Proud mother of Jerry, Josh (Tina), Gertrude, Baby Eshkawkogan (predeceased), Michael (Daphne), Bernadette (Bruno), Jeffery (Hali), Mark, Bonita, Peter and Patricia (Barclay). Cherished grandmother of 42 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five godchildren. Marie enjoyed being with her family, sharing food, stories and laughter. She was a passionate bingo player, entrepreneur food vendor, known for her famous tacos and homemade bread whether purchased from the M&M chip stand or powwow booth. Marie was a crossing guard for the Wikwemikong Junior School for over a decade, security guard for the Wikwemikong Arena social functions and an avid fundraiser for the Holy Cross Mission. Marie was also a gifted birch bark and sweet grass crafts person who made quill boxes, teepees, canoes, necklaces and moccasins. Resting at St. Ignatius Church, Buzwah from 1 pm Monday, July 14, 2014. Funeral Mass at 11 am on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 at Holy Cross Mission Church. Interment at Wikwemikong Cemetery.
