Island bus service route established for April 9 startup

MANITOULIN—The Ontario Northland Transportation Commission (ONTC) Manitoulin bus service start date has been announced as Monday, April 9 and while the vendors for tickets have yet to be made known (not all ticket sellers have been finalized), the route has been completed.

The Island Ontario Northland bus route is as follows: Little Current, Sheguiandah, Manitowaning, Wiikwemkoong, South Baymouth, Sandfield, Spring Bay, Mindemoya, Evansville, Gore Bay, Kagawong, M’Chigeeng, Aundeck Omni Kaning, Little Current, Birch Island, Espanola, Nairn Centre, Health Sciences North and Laurentian University.

The original bus route did not include a stop as far west as Evansville, but thanks to encouragement from Burpee and Mills reeve Ken Noland, who noted the growing Amish population on the West End during consultations, Evansville is now a stop.
