OFSAA Tennis too!
Meanwhile, down in Toronto Abby Hawke and Eli Lock (MSS Grade 11s) were competing in OFSAA mixed doubles at the Tam Heather indoor courts in Scarborough. The pair won their first match in a dramatic comeback, being down 2-6 and coming back to win 8-6 against a team from Mississauga. They then had to face the number one team in the tournament and lost. On day two they met another strong team and lost, putting them out of the tournament.
Aspen Debassige (Gr10) and Emery Watson (Gr9), played at the L’Amoreaux Tennis Centre in Toronto, and faced older opponents and lost two close matches on the first day of competition. Coach Chris Theijsmeijer relayed that the two said “they didn’t play their best that day, but it was a good learning experience for them for future years. Overall, they represented MSS proudly and had a great time.” Congratulations to players and Coach, alike!
