Home invasion in M’Chigeeng results in stolen prescription drugs

M’CHIGEENG–During the evening hours on Friday, June 6, the UCCM Anishnaabe Police responded to a report of a home invasion on the M’Chigeeng First Nation.

The female homeowner was alone at the time and reported that two male intruders forcefully entered the residence and stole undisclosed prescription medication. The female occupant who was not hurt and was able to call police.

The suspects were described as males wearing dark hoodies with their faces concealed.

The UCCM Anishnaabe Police subsequently commenced ground searches for the suspects but were unsuccessful in locating the culprits. A UCCM Scenes of Crime Officer attended and gathered forensic evidence.

The UCCM Anishnaabe Police are reminding the public to keep residence doors and windows locked, particularly at night. Police recommend keeping porchlights on at night and always know who is at the door before opening. Report suspicious vehicles and people to police.
