Hester Zahorec of Espanola passed away at her residence on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the age of 72 years. Beloved wife and best friend to her husband the late Paul Zahorec; daughter of the late Sarah Matilda (Reid) and the late Alfred Cranston. Loving mother of Jeffrey (wife Wendy) and twin granddaughters Alexis and Brooke Zahorec and Christopher (wife Helen) and step grandchildren Dalia and Micah; sister of the late Sheila Cunning. Hester is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Godfrey and Barbara Cranston. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Marie Cameron and step-siblings-in-law, Heather, Debbie, Gordon, Beth, Robert, Anna and Scott. Loved by nieces and nephews and so many friends. She was a friend to many and could not do enough for the town of Espanola and its people with her husband Paul. She was always there working along side Paul, often supporting special fundraising events for children and families in need. A member of the Espanola United Church UCW group, spending countless hours supporting the church; Espanola Lions Club fundraisers and Espanola Minor Hockey for her sons. Friends attended a visitation at the Bourcier Funeral Home, Espanola on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm. Funeral Service was at the United Church of Espanola on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 10 am, with the Reverend Cory Vermeer-Cuthburt officiating.
