Help send Christmas cheer to Canadian forces

LITTLE CURRENT—Royal Canadian Legion Branch #177 in Little Current is asking interested residents to help spread some joy to Canadian forces members stationed overseas this Christmas with Operation Christmas Cheer.

Legion Branch #177 is asking Islanders to write a Christmas card, or as many as you wish, that will then be delivered to a serviceperson currently stationed overseas. Comrade Linda Bowerman is heading the charge on Operation Christmas Cheer and asks that if you are able, to also apply a stamp to the Christmas card envelope, but if you can’t that’s okay too, the Legion will fill in the gaps.

Comrade Bowerman will then see the cards get safely to the Sudbury branch which then send them on to Belleville where they will be loaded on a transport plane bound for Dubai and points beyond.

“You can write whatever you want, even just to say thank you for your service, or you can simply sign your name,” Comrade Bowerman told The Expositor.

There is a tight turnaround, however. The cards must be dropped off at either The Expositor Office or at Legion Branch #177 by this Friday, November 30.
