LAKE MICHIGAN—Great Lakes Islands Alliance (GLIA) is pleased to announce its upcoming summit, scheduled to take place September 22-25 at Michigan’s Les Cheneaux Islands, with events in Cedarville and Hessel. This four-day event is a gathering of island residents, advocates and community leaders dedicated to the preservation and sustainable development of the Great Lakes islands.
The GLIA Summit serves as a platform for fostering collaboration and sharing innovative strategies aimed at addressing the unique challenges faced by island communities across the Great Lakes region. Participants will experience a dynamic agenda featuring an educational boat tour of the Les Cheneaux Islands, panel discussions, interactive workshops and networking opportunities designed to explore topics such as environment, economics, culture, media and community engagement.
The Les Cheneaux Islands, known for their vibrant maritime culture, provide an ideal backdrop for meaningful discussions and collaborations among stakeholders invested in the future of island environments. Registration for the GLIA Summit is currently open to residents of Great Lakes Islands.
