Gore Bay’s Sandie Merrylees rink wins Little Current Ladies Bonspiel

LITTLE CURRENT—The Sandie Merrylees rink of Gore Bay has won the Little Current Ladies Curling Bonspiel this past weekend. The annual bonspiel saw the Little Current Curling Club decorated in the theme of the Magical World of Disney.

The first event championship team was made up of skip Sandie Merrylees, vice Kim Orford, second Barbara Armstrong and lead Cindy Wright. They defeated the Tammy Rolston rink to win the first event.

In the second event, the Kristin Bickell rink defeated the Helen Gordon rink, while the third event winners was the Kim Cooper rink, which defeated the Bard Sheppard rink in the final. The fourth event was won by the Mandy Case rink, with the Janelle Proulx rink the runner-up.
