Gore Bay hosts successful pop-up bridal show event

GORE BAY—With the interest of vendors and customers on hand at a pop-up bridal event held at The Flower Hutch in Gore Bay last week comes word that a full-fledged Bridal Show is going to be held in town next year.

Janis Hutchinson of The Flower Hutch hosted the event last week. “This all got started because the vendors had been gearing up for the bridal show to be held in Little Current recently, which was cancelled. The vendors were all prepared to display their products but then had no venue to do this.”

“We decided to get together as a group and hold a similar event in our store, so people could see bridal services available to them in the area,” said Ms. Hutchinson.

“It was a successful evening,” said Ms. Hutchinson. She explained that the vendors included Tara Bailey of Captured Moments, April Aelick of 3/Bags, Scentsy operated by Julie Omnet, Emily Weber of Willow Dance Wellness Centre, Barbara Roberts and Mary Kay Cosmetics, Ashley Martin, a wedding makeup artist, Ms. Hutchinson and The Flower Hutch, Heather Nodecker of Cakes and Creations plus other business who wanted to participate in the event but couldn’t, so instead left business cards for shoppers to pick up. They included Sue Whynott of Whynott’s Wedding and Life Ceremonies, Kelly Gordon, Almaz Health Food Store and Kris Leblanc Catering.

“It was a pretty successful evening event, and hopefully next January Gore Bay will host a bridal show,” said Ms. Hutchinson. “There has already been a lot of interest towards holding this event.”
