GLENORA (ANSTICE) HARRISON

In loving memory of Glenora (Anstice) Harrison, also known to many as “Grandma Glen”, who passed away peacefully on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Extendicare York, in Sudbury, Ontario at the age of 97. Born on October 8, 1924 in Tehkummah, Ontario. Dear daughter of Victor and Dorothy Anstice (both predeceased). Glenora was also the loving wife of her beloved husband, David Harrison (predeceased) for 64 years. Loving mother of Dorothy Lewis (Robert predeceased), Susan Ward (predeceased) (Ross) and David (Sherry Petheram). Grandmother to Christine (Richard), Heather (Ousmane), Justin (Keanna) and Jessica. Cherished great-grandmother to Danielle, Avery and Weston. Sadly missed by siblings Ken Anstice (Evelyn predeceased), Bert Anstice (Marie, both predeceased), Ron Anstice (Justeen) and Jeanette Stickles (Doug predeceased). Predeceased by infant brother Dennis and sister Kathleen. Sister-in-law to George and Dell Marwood (both predeceased). Forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. Glenora enjoyed her time spent on Manitoulin Island, Schreiber, Sudbury and at the camp at Michael’s Bay, where many happy memories were made with her family and friends. She had many interests and hobbies which included knitting and crocheting, painting, word puzzles, baking (especially her famous homemade bread), travelling, snowmobiling, and driving her own ATV at camp. She loved the holidays and always prepared an extravagant family dinner followed by a game of cards with her loved ones. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their accomplishments, always looking forward to hearing about their latest milestones. Thank you so much, Grandma Glen, for being the example that you were, are, and always will be, for generations to come. Special thank you to Dr. Gibb, PSWs assigned to Grandma Glen’s care, and the kind staff at Extendicare York Rehabilitation Programme. Funeral Service is in the R.J. Barnard Chapel at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at 2 pm, reception to follow. (Friends may call after 12 noon on Thursday). Burial will be on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11:30 am at Hilly Grove Cemetery, Manitowaning, Manitoulin Island.
