Genoa Circus comes to town

LITTLE CURRENT—Excitement is building with the news that a circus is coming to the Island. Circus Genoa will be performing two shows at the NEMI Recreation Centre today, Wednesday, May 29.

Online reviews of the circus suggest a thrilling event that will include not only the customary clowns and juggling acts, but perhaps even a trumpet-playing mouse and a performer who balances a sword in his mouth while climbing ladder and another who uses colourful hula hoops to create fast and eye-catching performances.

During intermission, kids can play on the bouncy castles set up inside the arena or visit a concession area featuring circus staples such as cotton candy, snow cones and even peanuts—but don’t look for any elephants or other creatures to feed them to, this isn’t that kind of circus.

There will be two shows on Wednesday afternoon and evening. One will take place at 4:30 pm and the second at 7:30 pm.

The Hugo, Oklahoma-based Circus Genoa has set up free ticket offers at many Island businesses, including The Expositor. The offer allows one free ticket to a child under 12 who is accompanied by an adult who buys a ticket. The first 100 adults to purchase online get a ticket for $14.99.
