“Mother, sing me a song that will ease my pain.”
‘Freddy’ Fred was a proud warrior who faced many struggles in life. He was a man who quietly valued the company and support of his family and his friends. Fred was a confirmed bachelor who enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years. He loved the outdoors, especially spending time out on the water and at the family sugar camp. Fred was a great cook and prepared many meals for his family to enjoy. He took great pride in being Anishnawbe; in his language, traditional ways and practicing ceremonies. Fred is predeceased by his father, Franklin Nelson Paibomsai Sr. and his mother, Ida Paibomsai (Wahsquonaikezhik) and brothers; Felix, Francis and Fitzgerald. Fred is survived by sisters Fidelis (Archie), Francine and Florence (Don) and brothers Ferdinand, Finian (Lynn), Fabian and Franklin (Bonnie). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
