FREDERICK “FRED” MARSHALL

It is with sorrow that we announce the passing of Fred Marshall at the St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake on October 14, 2011 at the age of 72. Loving husband of Sheila Marshall (nee Rumley) of Elliot Lake and father of Edward (Helen) of Sudbury, Catherine Murray (Matthew) of Sudbury and Matthew (Colleen) of Elliot Lake. Proud grandfather of Carol, Robert, Amanda, Ian, Joshua and Alex. Survived by his sister Helen Everett (Charles) and sister-in-law Sheila Marshall, Fred is predeceased by his parents William and Alice Marshall and siblings Evelyn Morphet (late Clifford), Clifford (late Joanne) and Thomas. Also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. A passionate fisherman and hunter, Fred was raised on Manitoulin Island and was a long time member of the Masons, Shriners and Eastern Star both in Elliot Lake and Sudbury and an honorary member of Nokomis Chapter in Sault Ste. Marie. He was also a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. A memorial service was held at the Masonic Temple in Elliot Lake on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 2 pm. Memorial contributions to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel and Cremation Centre (36 Ontario Avenue).
