There is magic in a father’s touch, and sunshine was in his smile,
There was love in everything he did to make our lives worthwhile
He was a handy man doing electrical, plumbing and running his backhoe with grace
Yet he was a gentle man full of love and warm embrace
He would always rescue us, problems he could always solve no matter what the day,
Always making us happy in his own special way
Family was the thing that was always dearest to his heart,
And with those cherished memories, we will never be part.
They say that smiles that come from Angels fall like soft dew rain
To ease the earthly burdens, lifting away our pain
So we must remember that our father’s touch will always be there
Even though we see his empty chair
For each moment that we miss him we know where we can start
By taking a look inside our self and deep within our heart.
There is magic in a father’s touch, even from the wings on high,
We know you will always surround us, it will never be goodbye
It was hard to say “You can let go now Daddy” and watch you drift away
But we know that you are finally resting in a place where we shall meet again someday.
