Frank James Horsfall died peacefully at the Manitoulin Health Centre on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the age of 84. Survived by his beloved wife Florence. Dear father of Jim (Joanne), Kim (predeceased), Mary (Bob Weinhart), Ken and Joe. Proud grampa of Jocelyn, Melissa, Fiona, Genevieve, Crystal, Jessica, Alyssa, Stephanie, Sara and Richard (predeceased). Great-grampa of Leanne, McKenzie and Noah. Loved brother of Jack and Mildred (both predeceased), Kitt Burnett (Glenn), Bud (predeceased), and Dorothy Todman (Bev). Frank was an electrician at the Garson Mine, he was a co-ordinator for mine rescue for many years. Frank will be remembered as a influential ham radio operator. During the Cold War he was involved with civil defence, and on stand by at the radar base in Sudbury. He was a message relayer for ships at sea and for sending Christmas messages for the Dew Line Operators. Visitation was from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2013.
