Forced entry to Canada Post mailroom in Sudbury

SUDBURY–On April 29th 2014, the Greater Sudbury Police Service received a complaint from a Canada Post Supervisor who reported that forced entry was gained to the “Canada Post” mail room located at 1960 B Paris, Sudbury. There is evidence that, upon entry, the unknown suspect or suspects did compromise the mail that had not been delivered.

Canada Post has suspended mail to 1960 B Paris St. and customers are asked to contact Canada Post at 1-800 267-1177 to confirm where their mail has been re-routed.

If residents have concerns that their mail may have been compromised, they are asked to contact any credit card providers or government agencies, advise them of the incident and confirm whether or not the item of concern has been mailed.  They should also check the temporary mail site set up by Canada Post prior to contacting police.

At this time, some victims have already been identified.  If someone believes that an item is missing, please contact the Greater Sudbury Police Service at (705) 675-9171 and make reference to incident # SU10418197.
