First time winners capture mens

GORDON/BARRIE ISLAND—The James Beaudin and Roger Beaudin Jr. team won the championship flight at the Manitoulin Golf men’s annual open tournament!

The Beaudin team, which took the title for the first time, posted a 36-hole score of 131 (66-65) to win the tournament, held July 21-22 by four strokes. Finishing second was the father-son duo of Warren and Justice Corbiere and the team of Josh Bigras and Yves Fourier who tied for second. Both teams had a total score of 135.

In the first flight, the father-son team of Brian and Matt Bainborough were first with a score of 141. 

The second flight saw the team of Ryan Tamaru and Jamie Camillo post a score of 146 to take first place.

In the third flight the Craig Rogerson and Dan Lefebvre were first with a score of 149, while the fourth flight was won by Ray Bodson and Leon M. The fifth flight was won by Dennis McCann and Jeff McLauren.

One-hundred and twenty golfers took part in the tournament.

“We would like to thank everyone for taking part in the tournament and we hope you had a great weekend,” stated clubhouse manager Cheryl Deeg. “I would also like to thank the kitchen and clubhouse staff who worked very long hours this weekend, the course crew and Dan (Marois, who kept track of all scores) for all his help.”
