SUDBURY – On July 10, 2015 at approximately 10:25 p.m., members of the Sudbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17, City of Greater Sudbury involving two vehicles and a moose.
A total of three people were involved in the collision. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and one person has been confirmed deceased. No names are being released at this time, pending next of kin notification.
Fire Department attended the scene. The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) is assisting with this ongoing investigation.
Highway 17 has been closed in both directions. The estimated duration of road advisory is unavailable at this time.
