Despite Agri-food’s significant contribution to the economy, the average Canadian teenager is unsure about the sector and uninformed of its career opportunities. This lack of awareness presents a serious challenge to recruit the next generation of Agri-food employees.
Join us for our upcoming webinar Understanding the Teenage Mind: Strategies to Engage Youth in Agri-Food Careers on March 14th at 2:00 PM EDT and explore how educators and agri-businesses can work together to promote Agri-food careers to youth.
Register online for $99. Your registration includes individual access to the live session, and a recording you can share with your whole organization. For more information or assistance with your registration, please contact marketing@conferenceboard.ca or 1-800-267-0666.
The Canadian Agricultural Partnership (CAP), a five-year, $1.5 billion federal-provincial initiative was officially announced February 13. The CAP program will build on the success of Growing Forward 2 (GF2) and encourage government, producers and industry partners to work together to create further economic growth opportunities for Ontario’s Agri-food sector and Agri-products sectors. Application intake windows for producer and processor cost-share funding assistance will open on the first business day in April 2018, to ensure a seamless transition of support from GF2. Further program details, including application intake window dates for organizations and collaborations, will be made available once finalized. Additional information can be found on the ministry’s website at: www.ontario.ca/agpartnership.
