Plastics survey

The landfill disposal of farm generated plastic is becoming increasingly difficult.  With increasing volumes of plastic being used on farms across Northern Ontario, solutions need to be identified to provide farmers with the best possible, sustainable options.

The better the response from all farmers across Northern Ontario, the better recommendations that can be made for setting up systems and designing solutions to help farmers manage the end of life of this important material.

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Career Focus Program 

The Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada Career Focus Program will contribute 50 percent up to $20,000 towards employing a graduate of a Canadian university, college, CEGEP or provincially certified program. Graduates need to be between 15- and 30-years-old and have graduated during the past three years. Also, they must have Canadian citizenship, permanent residence or refugee status. Offered work positions should be project-focused, last a minimum of 30 hours per week for four months, and provide meaningful job experience towards significantly increasing the graduate’s chance of securing long-term employment or self-employment in the agriculture sector. Internships must start after April 1, 2018. The deadline to apply for funding is November 30, 2017.
