MANITOULIN—The annual fall Island-wide power outage for Hydro One crews to perform maintenance has been scheduled for Sunday, October 25.
This year, however, there are three communities that are exempt from the outage: Manitowaning, Wikwemikong and Birch Island.
Brian Dellandrea, customer operations manager with Hydro One, told The Expositor that crews will be working on station maintenance and the installation of new poles, specifically on Union and Poplar Roads. The outage will occur from 7 am until approximately 2 pm.
As for the power outage that affected Island customers last week for approximately eight minutes, the cause is unknown, Mr. Dallandrea states.
