Extensive damage done to Treasure Island lodge during break and enter

TREASURE ISLAND, LAKE MINDEMOYA – On Monday July 13, 2015 at around 11:30 am the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified of a series of break and enters that occurred sometime in the past day to several buildings located on Treasure Island in Lake Mindemoya. Police attended the island to find that the main lodge and seven other outbuildings and cabins had been broken into. Once inside culprit(s) caused extensive damage by smashing doors, extinguishing fire extinguishers and destroying property.

They entered the garage area and caused damage to two golf carts. Damage is estimated in the thousands of dollars. OPP have started an investigation into these break and enters and is seeking the public’s assistance in solving these crimes.
