Evelyn “Anne” Duxbury, aged 78 years, passed away peacefully at Manitoulin Health Centre with family by her side. Anne was born on August 9, 1935 to Leonard and Annie (nee MacDonald) Gibbons. She is predeceased by her brothers Angus and Lorne. Also predeceased by her son Patrick. A loving mother to Michael “Mike” Gibbons (Brenda) of Manitowaning and beloved grandmother to Patrick (Sherri) of Sudbury, Shawn (Amanda) of Mindemoya and Janet (Bill) of Manitowaning. Great-grandmother of Michael, Zachary, David, William and Joshua. Anne loved to watch hockey and baseball. If her beloved Montreal Canadians were playing, she wouldn’t hesitate to give Michael a ring and discuss the game with him. Anne’s favourite baseball team was the Toronto Blue Jays. Anne will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Donations in memory of Anne would be appreciated to the Knox United Church in Manitowaning. There was an hour viewing prior to Anne’s service on Saturday, March 22, 2014. Service commenced at 11 am at the Knox United Church in Manitowaning.
