Espanola Traffic Enforcement

On May 19, 2017, at approximately 11:53 pm, an officer with the Espanola Police Service was conducting traffic enforcement, and stopped a motor vehicle for investigation on Highway 6.  During the investigation, the officer determined that the male driver was currently suspended from driving in Ontario as a result of an unpaid fine.  Although the male driver had provided a British Columbia licence to the officer, it is also an offence to drive a motor vehicle under the licence of another jurisdiction while suspended in Ontario and he was arrested for this offence.

As a result of this investigation, the 39 year old British Columbia resident was charged for the offence of Drive Under Licence of Other Jurisdiction While Suspended in Ontario.  He will appear in Espanola court on July 13, 2017 to answer to the charge.
