MANITOULIN—Emily Bond, who was born and raised on Manitoulin Island, has been hired as the new manager of human resources at the Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC).

“I am so happy to return home to Manitoulin Island and join the MHC team” said Ms. Bond, who has worked off-Island for the past decade. “My family and I are looking forward to starting this new adventure and chapter in our lives. I am excited to start work in the health care industry and am eager to learn and growth through this opportunity. I look forward to meeting you all soon!”

Ms. Bond is a human resources generalist with vast knowledge and experience in recruitment, occupational health and safety as well as human resources performance measures with a progressive company. She holds an Honours Degree in Bachelor of Business Administration and in 2019 was awarded the ‘HR Rising Star’ designation by HR Director Magazine. “Emily shows passion, common sense and team excellence in all her projects and has made a real difference in her tenure here at Lofthouse,” the magazine reported.

“We are thrilled to have Emily on board,” said Paula Fields, chief executive officer of MHC. “She brings a wealth of knowledge with her and her connection to Manitoulin and the community will certainly help with her transition. I look forward to working with Emily and the senior team as we continue to deliver quality health care to the community of Manitoulin during these trying times.”

Ms. Bond will begin her role with MHC on June 12.
