In loving memory of Elizabeth Virginia Cada, a resident of Sheridan Villa in Mississauga, Ontario, and formerly of Sheshegwaning First Nation, who died at the Villa on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the age of 91 years. She was born in West Bay, daughter of the late George and Madeline (Mishibinijima) Corbiere. Elizabeth was a homemaker and loved every minute of it. She was a talented designer and quilter of quilts, an avid sewer who loved to sing and dance and to play her harmonica. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Alfred Lawrence in January 1970 and her daughter Celina Joyce Carroll. Loved mother of Freda Cada, Lorna Horlacher and her husband Peter, Donald Cada and his wife Carol, Doreen Ardis, and Betty Ann (Patti) Steele and her husband Martin Price. She will be missed by her grandchildren Lissa, Kelly, Marc-Albert, Dale, Celina, Brenda, Trevor, and Elizabeth Ann and her four great-grandchildren. Friends visited at the Culgin Funeral on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 3 pm – 9 pm and on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Sheshegwaning Community Centre from 10 am until time of the service at 11 am with Father Jim Kelly as celebrant. Cremation to take place. Interment in Sheshegwaning Cemetery. There was a feast following the service at the Sheshegwaning Community Centre.
