Eleanor (Howard) Bond of Little Current, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the age of 91 at Manitoulin Centennial Manor. Beloved wife of Leonard Bond. Loving mother of Sharon (predeceased) (Roy), Linda (Bob), Rick (Linda), Elaine (Don), Shelva (Gerald), and Bradley. Mother-in-law of Alice (John). Loving grandmother of Michael, Tom, Kenneth, Sheldon, Amanda, Sam, Alison, Laura, Sarah, Beverly, Zachary. Great-grandmother of 18. Survived by sisters Dorothy, Reta, Marie and brothers Len and Tom. Predeceased by her parents John and Lulu (Wilkin) Howard, brothers Alf, Wilbert, Lawrence, Bill, James, and sisters Tena, Doris, Betty, Mildred, Helen. “Aunt Toots” will be missed by many nieces, nephews. Eleanor loved her hats, writing poetry, her garden and birds, she enjoyed genealogy and being a member of the Rockville Womens Institute. Family and friends gathered at Island Funeral Home on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Visitation was from 11 am with Funeral Service at 1:30 pm. Burial will be at Coldsprings Cemetery.
